Work for living
As for the job and work people had and people have, there is nothing terrible in it. Sure, there are changes and there are great changes though those changes bring no harm to people. Today we have a variety of new jobs people never heard about for some dozens of years ago. Needles to say that for some hundreds of years ago people would never believe that there are such professions.
At time when there were no machine and all work had to be done with hands of people, there were a number of professions we have never heard about. A great amount of work had to be done with physical strength of people and there were no machines to fulfill those tasks. Nowadays there is no need in those who plough ground with trench or something.
Though, there are also professions common only for nowadays and people of those professions would be of no use for some tens of years ago. They are people who work with machines, computers, and internet services and so on and so forth. Say, there is a programmer whose job is to code computer programs. He would be a man of no use in eighteenth century as there were no computers there.
Modern jobs are mostly jobs of no physical efforts. The hard work is done with the help of different machines and all people have to do is to operate those machines. Most workers sit at their offices and operate technique through consoles. They don't have to leave their offices, they only have to push a couple of necessary buttons and that is it.
